As most of us are aware, facial contouring is a “new” big thing.  I’m not sure why the recent hype, many of us have been doing facial contouring for years.  The good thing about contouring become a big trend is the availability and more options of great contouring items that are on the market.  One item that I have been enjoying is the RCMA VK Palette #11 from Beautylish.  What I really like about this palette is how well the product blends into the skin.  The description for this palette calls it a foundation but I use it as a concealer, highlighter, contour – basically everything except foundation!  This palette comes in two shades, #11 and #10.  #11 is the lighter shade and the RCMA VK #10 palette is the darker of the two.

Because the formula in this product is made of a highly pigmented creme base, it glides on smoothly and blends easily.  I recommend this for everyone except those with oily skin.  This may cause problems if your skin is very oily, especially in the warmer weather.  If you do have oily skin, you may want to check out the Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette

Another item on my radar is  Paula’s Choice Resist Triple-Action Dark Spot Eraser 2% BHA Gel.  I was surprised to read they recommend this for combination/oily skin.  I have dry skin and found this works better for me than the Paula’s Choice Resist Triple-Action Dark Spot Eraser 7% AHA Lotion, which is recommended for all skin types.   I really like the Paula’s Choice website because you can buy samples of most products.  I purchased five samples of each of these skin lightening items and found the one with the 7% AHA irritated my skin.  So much easier to purchase a few samples and find this out than to purchase a full size product and then have to go through the hassle of returning it.

Being a child of Sunny California, many years ago, when we used Johnson’s & Johnson’s Baby Oil as suntan oil, I have an ongoing battle with hyper-pigmentation.  I have tried everything.  I have spent too much money on products that don’t work.  This gel works.  Now – it does take time, it does not work over night, and I do switch it up with Peter Thomas Roth’s De-Spot™ Plus.  I usually switch up products on everything (moisturizers, serums, creams, you name it).  I feel if you switch up the items you use in your skin care routine,  you won’t build up resistance to it.  So, after using these two lightening products, I’ve seen marked improvement with my hyper-pigmentation issues.  And, they cost much less than other skin lightening lotions and potions that I’ve tried.

The final product that I’ve been enjoying in March is Benefit’s Gimme Brow.  I’ve really been appreciating how well this makes my thin, sparse eyebrows (especially the tail end) look thicker in a very natural way.    The brush that comes with  it is nice and small, making it easy to use short strokes.   I apply this with the wand in the tube and then I run a clean brow brush through it to finish it.  My brows keep their shape and color throughout a 12 hour day, including dance and gym classes.   I have dark blonde hair and I use the light/medium shade.   I prefer this brow product over the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel because my brows do not feel stiff or sticky after I use it.   The packaging is small but good and the price about average.  A little goes a long way.
